I was testing this on TC, and the damage seems a little low. Considering a player has to put at least 200 points into taming + lore or at the very least 100 pts in bushido to get a pet. On my tests, a lesser hiryu does 5 damage when it hits a player with 70 phys resist. A fully trained greater hiryu does 12 damage.

Those numbers REALLY seem low. The 2nd circle harm spell does 11 damage. I can understand pets not doing as much damage in pvp as they do in pvm. But 5-12 damage for the amount of skill points is not worth it. Maybe if the greater did 20, it might make a pvp tamer viable to play. The players I attack dont even run from my ru, they know its not gonna hurt them much. Its just not worth the effort of running around on foot for an extra 12 damage every 5-10 seconds when the ru hits.

Dexxers, archers and mages get uber pissed off if a tamer kills them once in PvP out of 10,000 times. What happens next is tamers get nerfed in PvP. It's all to protect a UO past-time favorite of PK'ing tamers for fun. I guess some people love it when the target has no chance in a fight; maybe that is their position IRL.

A fully trained Hiryu with high stats does more than 5-12 on here. Also, there are far better pets for pvp than Hiryus, especially on this server.

It's likely due to red's limit on damage in pvp (Such as capping tactics/anatomy damage to a certain extent. Doesn't only apply just to weapons).

During the revamp all damage will be restored to the way they are meant to be, then adjusted.

D, I tested it on tc this morning. The max I got was 12 against my spawner with 70 phys resist. I didnt try out curse, and quite frankly I got tired of waiting for the ru to hit my spawner. I did harm+lightning combos to it, killed it, and maybe got fizzled once or twice.

Yes, But Hiryus are no good on here compared to some of the other pets you can use for pvp.

Hiryus can dismount which is nice, but other pets can do psn hits, bleed, and more. Also, there are several pets that use fewer slots than a hiryu which have 100% elemental damage (curse helps their damage) that also have special attacks + spells.

A simple example of this is the mare. While is can't dismount like the hiryu, you can ride a mount while using 2 of them. They do some elemental damage, have fire breath, and cast spells. x2 meele hits + x2 spells while the controller is combing also can be deadly. There are plenty of other pets, custom ones that dominate the mare than can also be used. Combine them with a competent mage and bolas, and you have a killing machine.

if your going down that road use a ethy while ur hiryus chasing you and make a macer/tamer

The point I was trying to make is hiryu damage is very low in pvp. They can easily be healed thru and most people dont even run from them.

Umm sorry geezus your advice doesn't help at all, he's using a ru not 2 mares.
12 dmg seems low regardless, greater rus should be doing at least 30dmg to someone with 70phys, so either its bugged or it's been capped, which would make no sense to me. Sure taming pvp is the bastard child template but why mess with game mechanics? PVP tamers require 200 skill points (or 300 if you're retarded and using vet AKA Chun on demise Laughing ) so that means they'd have to give up 2 other skills. Usually wrestle and resist or SS and necro. Use your brain and use that to your advantage, if you can't kill a tamer then you definitely need some practice.

Just my 2c.

Mob melee damage here is very low. This will probably be revised. It used to be possible to die to balrons way back in the day, if one just touched you.

Are you sure though? I wouldn't take an unmounted pet to the field just because they're so easy to lure away from their owner and kill, then come back to their owner. I'd say do your combo/macing w.e then when they get down to half health and are wanting to run, dismount your ru so it dismounts them and finish em.

This is what Applesauce used to do (he had bush with a lesser), and it was fricken funny to watch.
